Endeshaw Tadesse

Endeshaw comes from Ethiopia and has been involved in barley breeding since 2017. He completed his MSc at Addis Ababa University and his BSc at Adama University, Ethiopia. Presently, he is poised to embark on his prospective PhD journey in Fall 2024 under the guidance of Bob Brueggeman. His research will center on enhancing malt barley quality, agronomics, wide adaptability, and disease resistance through integration of classical breeding, genomic, and molecular genetics approaches.

His expertise encompasses breeding and genetics, field phenotyping, hybridization, varietal development, and breeding data management. His forth coming PhD endeavor will delve into the characterization, validation, and functional assessment of disease resistances and malt quality genes within spring and winter barley populations. Through this, he aims to fortify the barley breeding program, facilitating the development of high-yielding, superior-quality, and disease resistance barley varieties tailored to meet customer preferences.
